4 Named Bentley Football Captains for Friday Night’s Game

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior linebacker Bryan Hardy (Barnstable/Barnstable HS), senior left tackle Eric Beckwith (North Attleboro/North Attleboro HS), junior Michael Fawehinmi (Lynn/St. John's Prep HS) and sophomore Andrew Carmichael (Wayland/Wayland HS) will serve as Bentley University football captains for Friday night's game against Assumption College, head coach Bill Kavanaugh announced.

This will be the third game this season that Hardy will be the team's defensive captain. The other three are receiving the honor for the first time.

Hardy, a standout in the classroom as well as on the playing field, is the second-leading tackler in the Northeast-10 Conference, averaging 10.2 a game.  Over the last three games, the three-year starter and two-time second-team All-Conference pick has boosted that number to 12 a game. Hardy's career totals include 262 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

The six-foot-two, 285-pound Beckwith has also been a second-team All-Conference honoree each of the last two seasons. He's been in 35 games during his career and is due to make his 30th career start on Saturday.

Fawehinmi, a transfer from Wagner College, and Carmichael will be the Falcons' special teams captains against the Hounds. Both Fawehinmi and Carmichael have been involved in eight tackles so far this fall and Fawehinmi also has a blocked punt to his credit.

Bentley, 3-2 overall, will be looking to improve to 4-1 in the Northeast-10 when it takes on 22nd-ranked and defending conference champion Assumption.
