Calvanese, Catalano & Ford Named Bentley Captains for Game 3

WALTHAM, Mass. – Wide receiver Chris Calvanese (Norfolk/Xaverian Brothers HS), defensive end Dan Catalano (North Reading/Austin Prep HS) and punter Tyler Ford (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) will serve as captains for the Bentley University Falcons during Friday night's game against Merrimack College, Falcon football coach Bill Kavanaugh announced.

Calvanese, a graduate student, has six catches for 66 yards this season, all coming in the opener against West Chester. Included was a nine-yard TD catch, his ninth touchdown as a Falcon. He'll enter this week with 93 career catches for 1,173 yards.

A junior, the six-foot-two, 250-pound Catalano has been in on six tackles so far this fall while making his first two starts as a collegian. Last season, he was credited for 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 11 appearances.

Ford, a senior who was selected for Division II-III All-New England honors by the New England Football Writers following a record-breaking season in 2014, has averaged 42.0 yards on six punts so far this season, down slightly from his school and Northeast-10 record 43.0 from last fall. His career norm of 40.4 is best in both Bentley and NE-10 history, and ranks sixth among active Division II punters.

Bentley will be looking for its second straight win Friday night when it hosts Merrimack College. Both teams will enter the game with identical records of 1-1 overall after each won their conference opener last Saturday.
