Waltham News Tribune: "Keith LeVan tackles college football coaching game at Bentley"

Scott Souza, sports editor of the Waltham News Tribune, recently spoke with new Bentley quarterback coach Keith LeVan, a Waltham native and former standout receiver at the University of New Hampshire. WALTHAM – When Keith LeVan returned to his alma mater after an impressive football career as a receiver at the University of New Hampshire, he said he was thankful to get an opportunity to stick his foot in the door of the world of coaching as Waltham High's indoor and outdoor varsity track coach and as an assistant on the football staff.

He said he always thought in the back of his mind he might like to take his coaching to a higher level. But he was happy at Waltham High – where he is also on staff as a dropout prevention coordinator – and didn't really pursue positions. That is until one day last winter when he found out Bentley University alumnus Bill Kavanaugh was returning to the school as its new head football coach and was looking to assemble a staff.

LeVan decided to take a drive about a half mile down the road from Waltham High and take a shot.
