Hill Earns All-Region Recognition from Don Hansen's Football Gazette
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior wide receiver Jeff Hill (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) has been named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette Division II All-East Region third team following his standout 2013 season.
Hill led the Northeast-10 Conference in receiving yards per game with his average of 111.4 including 143.7 over the season's final six weeks. He caught 75 balls for 1225 yards and a dozen touchdowns, and reached the end zone at least twice in five games.
In the final NCAA Division II statistics, the six-foot-four Hill was 15th in receiving yards, 18th in TD catches and 26th in receptions.
On Bentley's all-time lists, Hill is third in receiving yards (2,376), third for third in TD catches (25), sixth in receptions (132) and on the brink of cracking the top ten in scoring (150).
Hill was previously named to the 2013 New England Football Writers Division II-III All-New England team and was a repeat first-team selection on the All-Northeast-10 team.
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988. Don Hansen's Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.
