Brownett had the best punting season of his career, with his average of 38.0 fourth best in the conference and an improvement over his 2010 norm by five yards. Ten of his 39 punts were downed inside the 20, and he had four of at least 50 yards.  Brownett, in three seasons as the Falcon punter, has a career average of 35.7 with a long of 67.

Brownett, who also has handed the team's onside kickoffs, has a 3.33 GPA while majoring in both liberal studies, with a concentration in global perspectives, and corporate finance and accounting.

Bentley finished the 2011 season with a 6-4 record.
