Falcons to host SNHU for three-game series, Sunday-Monday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley baseball team hosts Southern New Hampshire for a three-game Northeast-10 series starting Sunday, April 7. Sunday's doubleheader, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, starts at a 12 p.m., and a single game Monday, April 8, has a start time that's yet to be determined.

The Falcons were also slated for a single game against Assumption Friday, April 5. That game has been postponed for a date TBD.

 

Can't K Cory

Cory Bright has struck out twice all season – the fewest strikeouts among all D-II hitters with at least 50 at-bats.

 

Send it, Sencaj

Freshman Brendan Sencaj is the conference's second-leading home run hitter, with six bombs in 70 at-bats. His .729 slugging percentage also ranks second in the NE10.

 

By any means

Cory Bright (.554) and Tim Zupkus (.540) rank second and third, respectively, in the conference for on-base percentage. Zupkus has drawn a conference-leading 24 walks so far this season, and his 35 total hits are tied for the conference lead.

 

Knock 'em in

Steve Rizzuto and Brendan Sencaj are tied for the team lead in RBI with 24, each. That total is tied for sixth in the NE10.

 

Scouting Southern N.H. (16-10, 5-2 NE10)

The Penmen enter this weekend with six wins in their last eight games. They recently took two games in a three-game NE10 series against Assumption (March 30 – April 1). Jore Burgos has a conference-leading 10 home runs this season, and Harry Vargas Segura's 18 steals rank second in the NE10. Dyrenson Wouters' nine doubles this season is the second-best mark in the conference. On the mound, Austin Trumpour is 5-0 (nine appearances, seven starts); and Frankie DeMaro has a 1.32 ERA through eight appearances (five starts).
