RINDGE, N.H. – Cory Bright and Nick Pappas both homered Saturday, but the Bentley baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at Franklin Pierce. The Falcons lost the first game, 15-0, and they came up short in the second game, 7-4.
Bright's third home run of the season was a solo shot to lead off the fourth inning of the second game. Pappas came in to pinch hit in the ninth inning of the second game, and he lifted a solo home run over the fence.
Tyler Gonzalez and Tim Zupkus both picked up one hit in each game. Zupkus now has a six-game hitting streak. He holds a .412 batting average with a .540 on-base percentage this season. Gonzalez has a five-game hitting streak following the Franklin Pierce series, and his batting average is up to .407 this spring, and his on-base percentage is .458.
