Beauregard and Lindsay homer, Rizzuto scores three times in 7-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Steve Rizzuto and Eddy Beauregard both had multiple-hit efforts to lead the Bentley baseball team to a 7-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas Friday afternoon. It was the first game of a weekend trip at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Bentley held a 3-2 lead after an eventful first inning. Tim Zupkus and Cory Bright both hit RBI singles in the frame, and a sacrifice by Jackson Walonis allowed Rizzuto to score the third run for the Falcons. Rizzuto ended up scoring three times in the win.

In the second inning, Brian Lindsay crushed a solo home run to push Bentley's lead to 4-2. It was the first homer of his season, and the second of his career.

Walonis drove in another run with a single in the third inning, but Bentley's three-run cushion didn't last for long. A two-run homer by the Spartans made it a one-run game, 5-4, in the third stanza.

However, Beauregard came up big in the fifth inning, delivering a two-run home run. It was his first home run of the 2024 season after belting eight long balls last year.

Harper Flint earned the win on the mound, tossing four shutout innings out of the bullpen. He struck out four and allowed two hits without issuing a walk.

The Falcons have a doubleheader against Bridgeport Saturday, Feb. 24, in Myrtle Beach.
