Bentley baseball heads to Myrtle Beach for four games this weekend

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley baseball team heads south this weekend, where the Falcons play four games in Myrtle Beach, S.C. hosted by The Ripken Experience at Ebbets Field. Bentley starts with a doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas Friday, Feb. 23, followed by single games against Bridgeport (Feb. 24) and Mercy (Feb. 25).

Sencaj sends it

Freshman Brendan Sencaj hit his first-career home run during the 2024 opening weekend in Florida. At Barry (Feb. 11), he led off the fifth inning by blasting the first pitch of the at-bat over the left field fence.

The Bright stuff

Graduate student Cory Bright is hitting .500 (5-for-10) through the first three games of the season. He drove in a run at Lynn (Feb. 9) and at Palm Beach Atlantic (Feb. 10). Bright hit .281 last season, and finished the year with a team-leading .465 on-base percentage.

Hard at work

Sophomore Steve Hardiman had a solid outing in his first start of the season (second of his career) on the mound at Palm Beach Atlantic (Feb. 10). He allowed just one earned run in 5.0 innings, yielding only four hits while striking out three.

Young guns

Freshmen Keegan Antelman and Brandon Arsenault, combined with sophomore Timmy Orie, made for a formidable trio out of the bullpen last week in Florida. Combined, the underclassmen relievers allowed only one earned run in 5.1 innings (1.69 ERA).
