Beauregard Homers & Drives in 3 in Bentley’s 11-4 Loss to St. Cloud State

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Bentley University senior first baseman Eddy Beauregard (Paxton, Mass./Wachusett Reg. HS) homered for the fourth time this season and drove in three runs in the Falcons' 11-4 loss to St. Cloud State University in non-conference baseball at Little Fenway Tuesday.

The Huskies, 6-7, scored in each of the first six innings, including three in the second and two in the first, third and fourth, to take charge. Their 17 hits included four doubles and three hits apiece from sophomore shortstop Sawyer Smith (Somers, Wis.) and sophomore right fielder Garrett Bevacqua (Carlsbad, Calif.). Bevacqua drove in four runs, Smith had two RBI and senior second baseman Sam Riola (Ham Lake, Minn.) scored three times and stole three bases.

Beauregard, who is betting a lofty .486 with an .892 slugging percentage, got Bentley on the scoreboard with an RBI single in the first driving in senior left fielder Liam Sears (Springfield, Mass./Pope Francis HS).

In the fifth, Sears picked up an RBI on a ground out and Beauregard cleared the left field fence, with sophomore DH Stan DeMartinis III (Boca Raton, Fla./American Heritage HS) scoring in front of him.

The only other Falcon with multiple hits was senior second baseman Tyler Gonzalez (Windham, N.H./Lawrence Academy), who was two for four.

Bentley, 5-5, will look to end a four-game slide when it takes on Caldwell University Wednesday afternoon at the Santa Luces Athletic Complex in Lake Worth, Fla.
