No. 16 Rollins Downs Bentley, 5-1, for 13th Straight Win

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Seniors Justin Alintoff (Jupiter, Fla.) and Austin Long (Bedford, Ind.) combined on a four-hitter, pitching Rollins College to a 5-1 win over Bentley University in non-conference baseball Saturday afternoon at Alfond Stadium. The win was the 13th straight for the Tars.

Bentley, 2-6, scored its only run of the game in the ninth inning. Graduate center fielder Kyle Halloran (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) walked, stole his seventh base of the season and scored on a double down the left field line by junior DH Eddy Beauregard (Paxton, Mass./Wachusett Reg. HS).

Alintoff, a right-hander, improved to 4-0 on the season after giving up only three singles in seven scoreless innings. Amazingly, he's only allowed one run in 32 innings this season. Long came on to pitch the final two and gave up the only Bentley run.

The Rollins scoring began in the second when graduate left fielder Nick Santucci (Franklin, Mass.) led off with a home run to right.

The scoring continue with single runs in the third and fifth and two runs in the seventh. Graduate shortstop Chase Achuff (St. Petersburg, Pa.) had a pair of RBI doubles to lead the offense for the 13-2 Tars.

Although he was charged with the loss, Bentley received a quality pitching performance from freshman righty Marc Cedrone (Walpole, Mass./Xaverian Bros. HS) in his first collegiate start. Before Rollins got to him with three extra base hits in the seventh, he limited the nationally-ranked team to seven runs and three hits in the first six games.

Bentley will wrap up the three-game weekend trip to Winter Park Sunday with an 11 am game against Assumption University at Rollins.
