Bentley to Retire Pedroli’s Number 8

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University baseball program will retire the number eight in honor of the late Mike Pedroli during a ceremony on DeFelice Field Saturday morning at 11 am.

Pedroli, who played for the Falcons from 1996-99 and finished his career second in program history in home runs and RBI, passed away in May 2016 as the result of a tragic automobile accident.

The Norwood native and former Hopkinton resident finished his career with 36 home runs, 147 RBI and a .308 batting average. The four-year starting outfielder for coach Bob DeFelice's Falcons led the team in home runs as both a junior and senior, and earned All-Northeast-10 honors in 1999 after hitting .320 and slugging .605. Pedroli is one of only five players in program history with multiple ten-home run seasons.

An alumni game, featuring many of Pedroli's teammates, will follow the ceremony.

Due to Homecoming festivities and construction of the multi-purpose arena, parking will be in Lot 1 on the upper campus with shuttles running from 9:30 am. Follow signs for football parking to reach the appropriate lot.
