Patriot Ledger: Muir leads Braintree White Sox into Stan Musial World Series

After an outstanding spring for the Bentley Falcons which included winning a Gold Glove, Mike Muir has continued to excel for the Braintree White Sox this summer, helping the team to a berth in this weekend's Stan Musial World Series. The Patriot Ledger's Chris McDonald spoke to Muir in advance to the trip to Long Island.

Mike Muir has spent his summer for the Braintree White Sox of the Cranberry League making up for lost time on the diamond.

The Bridgewater native and Bentley University center fielder missed all of his sophomore season in 2013 with a shoulder injury – a tear of his labrum.

Since getting back on the diamond with the Falcons in February, Muir has played nearly 80 games combined with Bentley and the White Sox. Muir's summer of baseball will continue today as Braintree is one of six teams playing in the Stan Musial World Series in Farmingdale, New York.

"Sitting out a year at Bentley and seeing them do well just made me want to work harder," said Muir, who graduated from Xaverian Brothers High in 2011.
