Rey Signs Professional Contract with Frontier Greys

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley University right-hander Lamarre Rey (Lynn/Pingree School) has signed with the Frontier Greys of the Frontier League, an independent league based in the midwest.

Rey, 24, played for the Falcons from 2010-13. He spent most of his career as a first baseman before transitioning to a full-time pitcher as a senior. That spring, he posted a 1.81 ERA, a 4-4 record and two saves while striking out 52 in 74.2 innings and limiting opposing hitters to a .225 average.

Prior to 2013, Rey appeared in relief 12 times for the Falcons with two wins and two saves. Making six appearances in both 2011 and 2012, he had a 1.02 ERA during those two seasons.

Rey pitched a no-hitter during the 2013 Yawkey League playoffs for the Somerville Alibrandis and helped the Nashua Silver Knights win the Futures Collegiate Baseball League championship in 2011 and 2012.

The Frontier Greys, who play all their games on the road, open the season this weekend with a three-game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts.
