Swimming & Diving Set for Two Home Meets, Including Senior Day on Sunday

WALTHAM, Mass. – After almost 10 weeks, the Bentley men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host a dual meet on Thursday evening when they host Roger Williams at 6:00 PM. That is the first of two home meets this week. The Falcons also host Babson on Sunday for Senior Day.

On Sunday's Senior Day, a combined nine student-athletes from both teams will be honored; Emily Blatt and Emma Hapkiewicz from the women's team and Wellington Chen, Jake Eastman, Peter Epp, Rodrigo Gomez, Andrew Marcus, Andrew Matjucha and Sergio Torres from the men's team.

Since the last home meet on Nov. 5 against Assumption, both squads have gone 5-1 in dual meets and also competed at the Gompei Invitational in early December.

The women's team defeated Brandeis (174-117) and Keene State (159-127) before they competed at the Gompei to close out the fall semester. To begin the spring semester, they routed St. Michael's (213-78), dropped a close one to Southern Connecticut (146-133) and beat Pace on Saturday (143-78).

The men's team cruised to wins over Brandeis (195-85) and Keene State (167-108) before the Gompei closed out the first semester. Since returning from break, the Falcons won at St. Michael's (172-116) and Pace (135-95) and dropped a close meet to Southern Connecticut (145-140).

Neither the men's nor women's team have competed against Roger Williams recently, but both teams won against Babson last season on the road. The men's team won 132-99 last January 17 as they won 11 of the 13 events.

The women's team were 167-63 winners over Babson last season as they took 12 of 13 events.

After competing twice this week, the Falcons will close out the dual meet portion of their schedule on Thursday the 25th at home against Bridgewater State.

The team will then ramp up preparations for the Northeast-10 Championships, which will be held from Feb. 15-18 in Worcester on the campus of WPI.
