409 Bentley Student-Athletes Qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll

WALTHAM, Mass. – 409 Bentley University student-athletes, a school record and the second most in conference history, qualified for the spring 2020 Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll by achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the semester.

The 409 honorees account for 75.2 percent of Bentley's student-athletes, the highest percentage in the university's history.

During the spring semester, Bentley student-athletes had the option of receiving numerical grades or a pass/fail. Of those who selected the traditional grading system, an incredible 92 percent qualified for the Academic Honor Roll.

The Northeast-10 splits its Academic Honor Roll into three categories: Academic Excellence for those with a 4.0, Academic Distinction for those between 3.50 and 3.99, and Academic Honors for those between 3.00 and 3.49. Sixteen Falcons received Academic Excellence, a conference-best 264 Academic Distinction and 129 Academic Honors.

Earning Academic Excellence were Emily Barthlemes (volleyball), Maeli Cherry (women's soccer), Aidan Cremins (men's track and cross country), Ryan Farrar (men's track and cross country), Paige Fehskens (men's track and cross country), Marissa Fontaine (women's basketball), Michael Fricke (men's lacrosse), Patrick Geitner Jr. (men's basketball), Aidan Hopkins (women's soccer), Kirsten Lebreux (women's track and field), Megan Lewis (women's basketball), Emily McGrath (soccer), Jordyn Needle (softball), Rebecca Nguyen (women's soccer), Adam Parsons (football) and Amanda Shoemaker (women's swimming).

All 13 members of the women's basketball team and all 23 players on the softball team were included on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the spring.

Ten other Bentley teams had at least 80 percent representation on the AHR: golf, men's basketball, men's cross country, men's swimming and diving, men's track and field, women's cross country, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and women's track and field.
