Second baseman Logan Gillis (Merrimack, N.H./Lawrence Academy) and pitcher Lamarre Rey (Lynn/ Pingree School), both juniors on the 2012 Bentley University baseball team, have been selected to participate in next week’s Futures Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

Tom King, a sportswriter for the Nashua Telegraph and the Merrimack Journal, recently spoke to Bentley second baseman Logan Gillis, who is having an outstanding summer for the Nashua Silver Knights. This article appeared in the June 29 edition of the paper. A couple days after this ran, Gillis was recognized as the June Player of the Month in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

Bentley University right-hander Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS), an All-Northeast-10 Conference selection in each of his three seasons, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 37th round of the Major League Baseball free agent draft on Wednesday.
New England College All-Star Game Postponed Until Sunday

Due to rain, tonight's New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-Star Game has been postponed until Monday evening, June 11, at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton. Bentley is scheduled to be represented by right-handed pitcher Rob Finneran, the Falcons' all-time leader in strikeouts, wins, ERA and winning percentage.

Graduate student Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS), Bentley University’s all-time leader in wins, strikeouts and ERA, has been selected to participate for the Division II-III team in the 38th annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-Star Game. The right-hander was also named to the ABCA Division II East Region second team.

Bentley University placed four players on the 2012 All-Northeast-10 Conference baseball team, with two of the honorees, pitcher Rob Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./ Garden City HS) and designated hitter Greg Baggett (East Bridgewater/East Bridgewater HS) voted to the first team by the conference’s head coaches. Sophomore left fielder Sean Keady (Norwood/Norwood HS) and senior catcher Kevin Korwek (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) also earned All-Conference recognition with both selected for the third team.

Bentley University junior right-hander John Yohe (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic HS) has been named the Pitcher of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference and Falcon right fielder Bryant Johnson (Hopedale/Milford HS), a grad student, has been selected as the NE-10 Baseball Rookie of the Week.
