Volleyball Looks to Keep Winning with Two Matches on Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Winners of nine straight matches, volleyball will look to push that streak to double digits when they take on Holy Family on Saturday at Post University at 3:00 PM. The Falcons will then take on Post right after that match.

On a tear

Bentley's nine match winning streak has pushed its record to 13-3 overall. In the NE10 they are off to a 4-0 start. Last week the Falcons swept both Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's on the road.

Five of the wins during the streak have been sweeps and four have been by 3-1 scores. Of the 13 wins this season, only one has been in five sets. That was a come-from-behind victory over New Haven on Sept. 8 at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament.

A look at the standings

Bentley is tied atop the NE10 standings at 4-0 with New Haven, with AIC right behind them both at 4-1. The Falcons have played, and beaten, both teams in non-conference matches at the Hoffman Tournament. Bentley hosts AIC on Oct. 21 and they go to New Haven on Oct. 27 in conference play.

Nice to see you again

This will be the second meeting of the season between Bentley and Holy Family. The Falcons won the first matchup 3-0 on Sept. 16 at the IVHOF Tournament in Springfield. Bentley hosted Post last season and won 3-0.

The Falcons are 4-2 all-time vs. Holy Family and 4-1 all-time vs. Post.

Closing in on 1K

Graduate student Ingrid Murphy is closing in on 1,000 career kills. She is at 973 and will become the 9th player in program history to reach that milestone.
