Track and Field Begins Indoor Season Saturday at Suffolk Relays

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley track and field teams get their indoor season underway on Saturday at the Suffolk Relays, held at the Track at New Balance.

The team is captained by seniors Lucy Ambroult (sprints/jumps), Adriana Minasian (jumps/sprints) and Liz DeVarney (throws).

Ambroult holds the program indoor record in the 60M, set last season at the UMass Boston meet.

Caitlin Burmester, who this fall qualified for the NCAA Championship in cross country, has two top-10 times. In the 600M she is third and the 800M she is eighth.

HaiLian Rowan ran the sixth fastest time in the 60M at Plymouth State last season.

In the field events, Ambroult also owns a top performance. In the long jump she is second, established last season at Brandeis.

Saturday's meet is one of five indoor meets that lead up to the NE10 Indoor Championship in mid-February.

The teams will be back at New Balance next Sunday for the Beacon Invitational. That will be the final meet of the semester, before they pick up back again in late January with the Greater Boston Track Club Championships at Harvard.

The NE10s are set for Feb. 16-17 at New Balance.
