Varsell Bradrick Selected for Northeast-10 Hall of Fame

WALTHAM, Mass. – Amy (Varsell) Bradrick, the most decorated student-athlete in Bentley University women's track and cross country history, is among the 2023 inductees into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame.

The conference announced the class on Monday with the inductees also including the Bentley women's basketball teams from 1988-89 to 1992-93 in the special achievement category.

"When I arrived at Bentley, Amy was already on the roster and (former coach) Ed Lyons had turned her into a two-time All-American in the 800 meters," said head coach Kevin Curtin. "Amy handled the coaching transition deftly and worked tirelessly to turn herself into the most accomplished cross country/track and field athlete in Bentley history.  Her many NE10 titles, All-American and Academic All-America honors are a testament to Amy's dedication to being the best student-athlete possible. I'm pleased to see the NE10 recognize Amy for all that she accomplished and her impact on the NE10."

It's the second Hall of Fame award announcement for Bradrick this summer. She'll be inducted into the Bentley Athletic Hall of Fame Oct. 7.

Bradrick, who earned her bachelor's degree in 2013 and her master's the following year, collected seven Division II All-America awards during her career and was three-times named to the Capital One NCAA Division II Academic All-America Track and Cross Country team.

Bradrick's first two All-America awards came as a sophomore in 2011 when she finished fourth during the NCAA Division II Championships in the 800 both indoors and out. The following year, she qualified for the nationals in the 800 again, placing third indoors and fifth outdoors.

Bradrick moved up to the 1500 as a senior in 2013 and finished seventh in the NCAA outdoor championships, which were held at Colorado State-Pueblo.

During her final season of eligibility,  Bradrick placed 39th in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships and finished her career with a fourth-place finish in the mile indoors.

During Northeast-10 championship competition, Bradrick was a six-time conference champion as she won the 800 four times (indoors in 2011 and 2012, outdoors in 2011 and 2012), the 1500 outdoors in 2012 and the mile indoors in 2014. She also earned six silver medals and twice was third in the 4x800.

Bradrick's impressive resume also included New England champion in the 2012 indoor 800, 13-time USTFCCCA All-East, seven-time All-New England, three-time Northeast-10 Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence award recipient, two-time USTFCCCA Division II East Region Athlete of the Year and eight times Academic All-Northeast-10.

Bradrick owns four of the seven best 800 times in NE10 outdoor history as well as two of the six fastest 1,000 times. Indoors, she also owns the NE10 championship record for the 800 (2:13.09) and is number two all-time in the 1,000 (2:56.64).

Bradrick will be honored on campus later this academic year.
