Ambroult Breaks Own School Record in 100 Again

LOWELL, Mass. – For the second time this season and the fourth time in her career, Bentley University junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) broke the school record in the 100 meters. The latest came on Saturday while competing for the Falcons in the George Davis Invitational at UMass-Lowell.

Ambroult, who finished fourth among 34 competitors in the event, bettered the mark she set two weeks ago in San Diego by nine-hundredths of a second with a 12.50. She trailed two runners from Dartmouth and one from Merrimack while moving to seventh on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list.

Ambroult's afternoon also included a third-place finish, in a field of 28, in the long jump. Her distance was just a half-inch shy of 18 feet.

In the 800, sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) moved to fifth on the conference performance list and tenth on Bentley's all-time list. Her 4:48.91 was a new personal best by 14.82 seconds. Burmester also set a new PR in the 400 while placing 11th of 21 in 1:02.74.

Freshman HaiLian Rowan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland HS) placed 12th in the 100 with a 12.34 and improved on her PR in the 200 by 0.37 seconds with a 27.60. That put her in 15th place.

Senior Audrey Christo (Belmont, Mass./Belmont HS) was 14th of 30 in the 3,000 with her 10:50.26 improving on her previous best by 5.70 seconds.

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational.
