Another Record-Setting Performance for Ambroult

LOWELL, Mass. – For the third consecutive Saturday, sophomore Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) made a change to the Bentley University women's track and field record book.

Competing in the George Davis Invitational at UMass-Lowell, Ambroult became the first woman in program history and the first in the Northeast-10 Conference this season to achieve 19 feet in the long jump. Ambroult finished second overall, trailing only New Hampshire's Olivia Chamberlain by three-and-a-quarter inches.

Ambroult's performance broke the school record set by former Falcon standout Steph Mattson during the 2018 NE10 championships by a quarter-of-an-inch. It extended her own personal best by nine-and-a-half inches.

Ambroult also set a new PR in the 400 meters (1:06.98) and finished 18th of 36 in the 200 (27.27).

Senior Chase Davies (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) finished fourth in a field of 24 in the 100 hurdles, her time of 14.90 second best in her career behind the school record 14.81 she posted a week ago. Davies, the reigning NE10 heptathlon champion, also established new career-bests in the long jump (16'4.25") and the javelin (81'6").

Freshman Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and senior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS) continued their string of solid performances. In the predominantly Division I meet, Burmester was 13th of 40 in the 800 (2:23.23) and Bilodeau was 12th of 31 in the 5,000 (19:00.62).

Bentley's next meet is the Stonehill Invitational next Saturday.
