Bilodeau & Ambroult Earn Victories at Black & Gold Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS) and sophomore Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook, Mass./Holbrook HS) each won an event while competing for the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team at the Black and Gold Invitational at Bryant University, and Ambroult also tied a school record.

Bilodeau captured the 10,000 meters in 39:00.90 on Friday, winning by nearly 45 seconds over Rhode Island's Jackie Peschko. She broke the meet record by about 15 seconds, moved to the top of the Northeast-10 performance list, climbed to third on Bentley's all-time list and qualified for the New England Championships.

On Saturday, Ambroult was first among 21 competitors in the long jump, clearing 17 feet, seven inches with a winning margin of three-and-a-half inches. She also tied the Bentley record in the 100 meters, her time of 12.66 putting her third in a field of 28 and matching the mark posted by Dom Balzora-Rivert in San Diego in 2019. It was good for third on the NE10 performance list.

Senior Chase Davies (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead HS) was fourth in the 100 hurdles with her 15.30 second performance fifth best in the conference this season and only .04 seconds off her own school record. She also moved to tenth on Bentley's all-time list in the 400 hurdles with a 1:12.97.

Junior Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) was seventh of 16 in the high jump, with a height of five feet, one-quarter inch.

Freshman Lauren Joseph (Coventry, R.I./Coventry HS) moved to seventh on the NE10 performance list in the 1500 after finishing in 5:02.00, good for 20th in a field of 54.

As a team, Bentley finished ninth among 13 with 36 points. Seven of the eight teams in front of the Falcons were Division I programs.

Next Saturday, Bentley will participate in both a triangular meet at Merrimack and in the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego.
