Davies Captures 60 Hurdles During Gordon Kelly Invitational
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore Chase Davies (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) ran to victory in the 60 meter hurdles Saturday during the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT's Johnson Athletic Center.
Davies, a week after setting the school record in the event with a time of 9.21 seconds, ran a 9.44 to win by three-hundredths of a second over Tufts' Rachel Eaglin. Bentley junior Sydney Hurwitz (Newton/Newton North HS) followed in third place with a 9.52.
Hurwitz was also third in the long jump, turning in a jump of 17 feet, two inches on her fourth attempt of the afternoon.
Bentley also received a third-place finish, among 18 participants, in the 60 meters with senior Dom Balzora-Rivert (Templeton/Narragansett Reg. HS) turning in an 8.10, a new personal best by 0.02 seconds.
Senior Kirsten Lebreux (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford HS) was fourth of 11 in the 400 with her 1:04.66 a PR by 1.24 seconds.
Bentley will wrap up the indoor season Thursday and Friday with the Northeast-10 Conference Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center.
