Bentley Falls to Providence in Spring Opener

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Bentley fell to Division I Providence College on Sunday afternoon in its first match of the spring season.

The Friars compete in the Big East and were already playing their 11th match of the spring season.

The Falcons, who last competed on Oct. 13, see their record go to 4-7 on the season.

Adriana Hiraldo took up the No. 1 singles position for the Falcons and battled against PC's Mae Abreu.

Maria Mella was the No. 2 singles player for the Falcons, and she was followed in the lineup by Catalina Borrero, Anna Lang, Libby Keefe and Hannah Gould.

The doubles pairings had Mella and Lang in No. 1, Hiraldo and Borrero in No. 2 and Keefe and Taylor Morris in No. 3.

The Falcons are back in action on March 10 against Lewis University in Orlando for the first of five matches in the Sunshine State for its spring break trip.
