Team Effort Leads Bentley to 5-2 Victory over AIC

WALTHAM, Mass. – Six different players won in either singles or doubles as the Bentley women's tennis team earned a 5-2 Northeast-10 Conference victory over American International on Thursday afternoon.

Bentley claimed the doubles point behind wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches.

In the No. 1 match, sophomore Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) and junior Adriano Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.) defeated AIC's Natalija Vlacic and Victoria Azcona by a 6-2 score. In the No. 2 match, senior Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) and junior Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) got the better of Charlotte Tvelia and Maria Cedeno 6-2.

In singles, victories by juniors Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) and Libby Keefe (Lowell, Mass./Lowell Catholic) gave the Falcons the win. LeSage defeated Cedeno 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 match and Keefe knocked off Tvelia 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 match.

Bentley improved to 1-3 in NE10 play with the win. The team's next match is on Sunday at home against Saint Michael's, for Senior Day at 12:00 pm.
