WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) has been named captain of the Bentley University women's tennis team for the 2022-23 season, head coach Rick Edelmann announced.

A co-captain last season, she was Bentley's primary No. 1 singles player.

Romagnano is outstanding student-athlete and member of the Bentley community. She has earned the Academic Achievement Award from the Div. 2 Athletic Directors Association two years in a row. She is a double major in marketing and sustainability, with a minor in psychology.

On campus, she served as the President for Bentley's Student Athlete Advisory Committee for the 2021-22 academic year. She serves as Chair for the Students for Sustainable Business Planet, is a member of the Women's Leadership Program and is Program Manager for BSLCE.

Romagnano and the Falcons begin their season on Saturday at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational.
