Bentley Cruises Past AIC 6-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team earned its second win in a row with a 6-1 road win over American International on Saturday afternoon.

In what was the team's final NE10 match of the regular season, the Falcons improved both their NE10 record and overall record to 4-6.

The Falcons won two of the three doubles matches to earn the point, and a 1-0 lead going into the singles matches. Bentley then won five of six singles matches for the 6-1 victory.

Senior Alyssa Cook (New Castle, N.H./Portsmouth) and sophomore Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) won in No. 3 doubles, 6-3, and junior Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) and sophomore Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) took the No. 2 match, 6-4.

In singles, Romagnano battled to a three sets win in No. 1. She won the first set 6-4, dropped the second in a tiebreak 7-6, but secured the match with a 6-3 win in the third set.

LeSage won her second match of the day in No. 4 singles, with a three sets win over Alexa Conlin 3-6, 6-0, 6-2. Lang also tallied her second point of the day, with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph in No. 5.

Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, P.R.) and Alessa Matuty (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) also won their singles matches. Hiraldo in No. 2 (6-4, 6-0) and Matuty in No. 3 (7-5, 6-2).

The Falcons will play their final match of the fall season on Monday at Post in a non-conference match.
