WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team won for the second time in three matches with an 8-1 victory over Saint Rose on Saturday in Northeast-10 play. Seniors Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and Brittany Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) and junior Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) each won twice.

The Falcons swept through the doubles to lead 3-0 heading to singles, where they won five of six. They dropped a total of just 10 games in the five singles matches they won.

After winning their respective doubles matches, Murphy, Harbert and Litton all had easy wins in singles. Murphy won the first set against Erin Reeg 6-0 in the second-flight, then won the match when Reeg had to retire. Litton topped Lauren Romine in the third-flight, 6-0, 6-2, and Harbert defeated Nicole Terribile in the fourth-flight, 6-1, 6-1.

The win improves the Falcons' records to 6-10 overall and 6-3 in the NE-10. Saint Rose falls to 4-8 both overall and in the NE-10. Bentley's next match is Wednesday at home against Merrimack at 3:00 p.m.
