White Posts Northeast-10’s Best 100 Backstroke Time as Bentley Extends Win Streak to 10

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bentley University freshman Taylor White (Warwick, Bermuda/Warwick Academy) posted the fastest 100 yard backstroke time of the season Wednesday night while helping the Falcons to their 10th straight win, 177-62 at Bridgewater State University in the team's dual meet finale.

White reached the wall in 59.85 seconds to better the conference's best time of the season by 0.35 seconds and her own personal best by 0.61. She finished first by 1.34 over senior teammate Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS).

 Double-winners for the 10-1 Falcons were junior Emma Hapkiewicz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and freshman Morgan Kingsley (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia HS). Hapkiewicz recorded the NE10's seventh fastest 200 individual medley time, 2:17.04, and also finished first in the 500 freestyle (5:17.15). Kingsley was first in both the 50 free (26.31) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.45).

The other individual winners for Bentley were Gonzales in the 200 free (1:58.74), freshman Grace Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) in the 1000 free (11.18.54), sophomore Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS) in the 100 butterfly (1:01.45) and sophomore Cleo Zhou (Sharon/Sharon HS) in the 100 free (57.89).

White, Nuzback, junior Emily Blatt (Westford/Westford Academy) and sophomore Madison Capria (Middle Village, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy HS) opened the meet with a winning time of 1:54.39. Bentley also captured the 200 free relay with Gonzales, freshman Rachel Thilow (Roseville, Calif./Saint Francis HS), Motisi and senior Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) finishing in 1:45.13.

Bentley will spend the next two weeks preparing for the Northeast-10 Championships, which will be contested at WPI Feb. 9-12.
