Freshmen Excel as Bentley Women Win 5th Straight, 172-119

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshmen captured seven individual events as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team extended its winning streak to five with a 172-119 win over Keene State College Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Grace Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) and Taytor White (Warwick, Bermuda/Warwick Academy) were both double-winners in the Bentley victory. Motisi placed first in the two distance events, the 1000  yard freestyle (11:13.66) and the 500 free (1:02.17). White's wins came in the 200 freestyle (2:00.73), an event in which the Falcons went 1-2-3, and the 100 backstroke (1:02.17).

The other freshmen to touch first were Lily Rice (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle HS) in the 50 breaststroke (33.41), Caroline Ubert (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington HS) in the 50 butterfly (27.38) and Morgan Kinglsley (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia HS) in the 50 breast (1:11.40).

Motisi's 500 free time and Ubert's in the 50 fly were both Northeast-10 season-bests, as was the 54.40 achieved by senior Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) in the 100 free (54.40). Gonzales also captured the 50 backstroke in 28.96.

Bentley swept the diving events with senior Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) posting a 289.48 off the one-meter board and sophomore Hilla Almog (Wayland/Wayland HS) a 200.56 from the three-meter.

Bentley, 5-1, will compete in the Gompei Invitational Dec. 2-4 at WPI. The next dual meet is not until January.
