Galvin, Gonzales & Huminski Named Bentley Women’s Swimming & Diving Captains

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freestyler Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS), multi-eventer Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) and diver Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) – a trip of senior student-athletes who have combined for 29 Northeast-10 Conference medals – will serve as captains of the 2022-23 Bentley University women's swimming and diving team, head coach Mary Kay Samko announced.

"Kate, Mary and Dariana have been our most prominent team members, with each earning conference championships and holding school records," said Samko.

"Mary has been the top diver in the conference and Kate captured three individual titles last season. Dariana is one of our most versatile swimmers and can score in almost any event and can be counted on in every relay event. We are excited for the spirit and  dedication that this group of women bring to our team."

Galvin, Bentley's school recordholder in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events, is the reigning NE10 champion in the 50, 100 and 200. She also helped Bentley capture gold in three relay events at last season's championships. Her career totals include seven golds, three silver and four bronze medals.

Gonzales was part of Bentley relay teams that twice won gold at last winter's Northeast-10 Championships and was the runner-up, for the second straight time, in the 200 free. She ranks in the top five in Bentley history in six different individual events (three free, three back),

Huminski has competed in two Northeast-10 championship meets and has captured both the one-meter and the three-meter diving in both competitions. She participated in the NCAA Division II qualifying meet both seasons and is a two-time Northeast-10 Women's Diver of the Year.

Bentley, which has won 50 of its last 51 dual meets, opens its season at home Friday night against Wheaton College.
