Trio of Falcons Named First Team All-New England by NEWISA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bridget Gleason, Jillian Hendriksen and Claire Ewen were named first team All-New England by the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association.

First and second teams were voted on by Division II head coaches from colleges and universities in New England.

All three Falcons were voted to the first team.

Gleason is a forward and was previously named third team All-Northeast 10 after she led the squad with seven goals. Her goals tally was tied for the 8th most in the NE10 this season.

A center back, Hendriksen helped Bentley post the second lowest goals against average in the NE10. She played all 90 minutes in every match this season and was also named first team All-Conference.

Ewen had a stellar junior season in goal for the Falcons that saw her earn a number of awards, highlighted by the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year and the New England Soccer Journal Division II Women's Player of the Year.

She posted five shutouts, an .856 save percentage and a 0.97 goals against average. Her save percentage ranked second in the NE10 and her GAA ranked fourth.

Nationally, Ewen's save percentage ranked 17th in Division II.

The Falcons qualified for the NE10 playoffs in the first season for head coach Sarah Dacey.
