Ewen Makes 11 Saves in Bentley’s 1-0 Defeat at No. 2 Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – Goalkeeper Claire Ewen made a career-high 11 saves and kept No. 2 ranked Saint Rose scoreless for more than 80 minutes, but the Golden Knights emerged with a 1-0 victory.

Ewen, the reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week, stopped the first 11 shots she faced until Saint Rose's Caitlin Wania finally scored in the 81st minute.

The goal came after Ewen made two saves in quick succession. After she dove to make the second save the ball bounced to Wania who scored from about eight yards with a low shot on the ground.

Ewen raised her save percentage to .913 which is tops in the NE10.

The defeat snapped Bentley's three match unbeaten streak and dropped their records to 3-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the NE10. Saint Rose stayed unbeaten and is now 9-0.

Bentley's next match is on Tuesday at home against Saint Anselm.
