NE10 Semifinal Set For Wednesday with Bentley Taking on Pace

WALTHAM, Mass. – After a win over Assumption in the NE10 quarterfinals Bentley will now take on #1 nationally ranked Pace in the semifinals on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.

In Saturday's quarterfinal the Falcons, the four seed in the NE10 Championship, took down the five seed Greyhounds 16-12 to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2021. Maeve Johnson and Caroline Affolter combined for nine goals, and Courtney Dermody and Natalie Dutkewych each scored two goals to lead the offense.

Dutkewych pulled down a career-high eight draw controls and Ashlee Wargo was strong in the cage with seven saves. Affolter and Dermody each had two caused turnovers and Emma Jadul, Kat Slattery, Hailey Bardorf and Caitlin Keenan each had one.

The Falcons, who are ranked 18th nationally in the IWLCA poll, have won nine of their last 11 games.

The Setters present a formidable opponent as the defending national champions. They are 18-0 this season and have won 22 straight games going back to last season. They defeated Franklin Pierce 19-6 in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

This will be the second postseason game all-time between Bentley and Pace. The first was in the 2018 quarterfinals. The two programs have played nine previous times overall.

The winner will advance to the NE10 finals on Saturday. The other semifinal game on Wednesday pits the two seed Adelphi against the three seed New Haven.
