No. 14 Bentley Preps for Two Games in Three Days in Florida

WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 14 ranked Bentley women's lacrosse team has two games in three days coming up in Florida against Saint Leo on Thursday night and No. 7 ranked Florida Southern on Saturday.

The Falcons played these same two teams last season and swept. They defeated Saint Leo 13-12 in overtime on a goal by Caroline Affolter.

Two days later they defeated Florida Southern, ranked No. 2 at the time, 17-16 in overtime. That is the highest ranked team Bentley has ever beaten. Kenzie Lupton scored the winner in overtime and goalie Ashlee Wargo made 14 saves.

The Falcons have gotten off to a 1-1 start this season with a 16-9 win over No. 16 Mercy and a 14-11 defeat to No. 3 West Chester.

After two games Maeve Johnson leads the team with nine points on seven goals and two assists. Amanda Davis, the NE10 Player of the Week on March 4, is second with seven points (6g, 1a).

Wargo was named the IWLCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week following the win over Mercy and she has an 11.50 goals against average and 17 saves in two games.

Affolter leads the team with 17 draw controls, 10 more than anyone else on the team.
