No. 14 Ranked Falcons Set for Home Opener Thursday vs. No. 3 West Chester

WALTHAM, Mass. – Coming off a season opening road win over Mercy on Saturday, No. 14 ranked Bentley hosts No. 3 ranked West Chester for its home opener on Thursday at 12:00 PM.

Starting off strong

The Falcons went on the road and defeated Mercy, ranked No. 16 at the time, 16-9. Amanda Davis scored a career high six goals and Caroline Affolter and Courtney Dermody each had hat tricks.

Affolter pulled down 12 draw controls and as a team the Falcons dominated that category with 23 draw controls to just five for the Mavericks.

Ashlee Wargo was named the IWLCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week after she made 11 saves and had a 55.0 save percentage in the win. She also helped force the Mavericks into an 0-4 day on free-position attempts.

It's the third time in her career she's won the award after earning it twice last season.

Davis was named the NE10 Player of the Week on Monday after her six goal performance.
