Bentley Ranked 18th in IWLCA Division II Preseason Poll
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley is ranked 18th in the IWLCA Division II Preseason poll, it was announced on Monday.
The Falcons were ranked in the IWLCA poll all of last season, including the season-ending poll. The highest ranking they achieved was 12th in the March 27 edition of the poll after three straight wins over ranked teams. That included a victory at No. 2 ranked Florida Southern, the highest ranked team the Falcons had ever beaten.
Head coach Taylor Bastien, a 2013 Bentley alum who is entering her 7th season, has 20 players back from last season. Four of the six All-Conference selections from the 2023 team return. Attacker Maeve Johnson, midfielders Caroline Affolfter and Nat Dutkewych and defender Kat Slattery. Goalie Ashlee Wargo also returns after she was twice named the IWLCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week.
Bentley's first game of the 2024 season is set for Saturday, March 2 at Mercy. The first home game is March 7 against West Chester.
