PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – No. 14 ranked Pace University dealt No. 19 ranked Bentley University a 15-2 defeat on Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 women's lacrosse matchup. Sophomore Abby Haimson led the Setter offense with four goals.
Pace represented the fifth straight top-15 team Bentley has played to begin the season, all of which have either been on the road or at a neutral site.
Bentley scored the game's first goal just 31 seconds in, off the stick of junior Paige O'Neill (Amityville, N.Y./St. John the Baptist). Following that goal though, the Setters scored 10 unanswered in an 18 minute span that left them with a 10-1 lead with 10:00 remaining in the opening half after a goal by junior Angela Kelly to close the run.
Senior Ellie Shuman (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) found the back of the net on a free-position shot at the 5:08 mark to cut Bentley's deficit to 10-2, but that was the final goal of the half.
Bentley's schedule gauntlet continues on Saturday when they visit No. 1 ranked Adelphi.
