Dorman Named IWLCA 2nd Team All-America

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) has been honored with a selection to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II All-America second team, it announced Thursday afternoon.

Dorman becomes the program's second ever All-American, and the first since former player and current assistant coach Alyssa Ritchie was named to the IWLCA second team in 2007.

Dorman's All-America recognition is her fourth honor of the postseason, after she was previously named the Northeast-10 Goalie of the Year, first team All-Conference and IWLCA first team All-North Region.

The junior impressively played every minute in net for the Falcons in 2013, which was her second full season as the starting goalie, helping the team to an 11-7 record, a berth in the NE-10 playoffs and a national Division II ranking of No. 14 by the IWLCA.

She ranked in the top-five in several statistical categories for goalies in the NE-10; first in minutes (1,096), third in saves (151), fourth in goals against average (10.29) and fifth in save percentage (.445). Her GAA is the fourth lowest for a single season in the program's history.

A co-captain for Bentley as well this season, Dorman is majoring in both managerial economics and liberal studies.
