PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Bentley University Falcons sank 11 three-pointers, including five by graduate guard Ella Thompson (Greenwood, Ind./Cedar Grove HS), and set a school record with .733 accuracy mark from downtown while extending their winning streak to ten with a 67-57 win over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball Thursday afternoon at the Goldstein Fitness Center.

Bentley, which trailed by at many as 16 in the first quarter, improved to 18-2 overall and 13-1 in the NE10. The Falcons lead the conference by two games over Assumption and Southern New Hampshire, two teams that the Falcons defeated earlier in the season.

After uncharacteristically giving up 25 points in the first quarter and 32 in the first 16 minutes, Bentley took charge by scoring 18 consecutive points over the final four minutes of the second stanza. During that surge, the Falcons made all seven of their shots, including four from distance, and held the Setters scoreless on all seven possessions.

The run, which began with coach C White's team on the short end of a 32-21 score, began with a three from the left side by Thompson. Freshman guard Niya Morgen (Swampscott, Mass./St. Mary's HS) scored the next five, including a triple from the left corner, and Thompson drained another three from the left side with 2:10 remaining to even the game at 32 all.

Bentley went into the half up 39-32 with the run also including another Thompson three, the Falcons' sixth in as many attempts in the quarter, and lay-ups from sophomore post Julia Elie (Rockland, Mass./Rockland HS) and junior forward Kylie DuCharme (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington HS).

After Pace (14-6, 8-5 NE10) briefly regained the lead twice early in the third, Bentley senior guard Brooke Obar (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely HS) sank a three from the left corner with 5:39 to play. That launched a 12-0 Falcon run that pushed the advantage to 11, 53-42, and included a second Obar basket from distance.

Five points by Thompson in the first 100 seconds of the fourth made it 58-44 and the visitors went on to earn their 18^th win.

The Bentley defense, which ranks among the national leaders in Division II, gave up 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the first. However, over the final three, Pace totaled only 32 points on 25 percent shooting (12/48).

Thompson, who matched her season scoring high, finished seven of ten overall and five of seven from three. Her career three-point total climbed to 206, good for fourth in program history.

Senior guard Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) followed with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Morgen scored ten off the bench with three trifectas, and DuCharme provided ten rebounds and nine points.

Bentley's .733 from three broke the school record of .682, set against Southern Connecticut in January 2020.

Overall, the Falcons shot 48 percent and had a 38-33 rebound advantage.

Pace was led by junior Arianna Stockinger (Cortlandt, Manor, N.Y.) and sophomore Ciara Collins (Bristol, Conn.) who combined for 34 points. Stockinger had 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, and Collins finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Bentley will play its third game in five days on Saturday when the Falcons take on Adelphi University at home. Before the game, the Falcons' 2014 NCAA Division II national championship team will be honored.
