WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bentley University freshman guard Niya Morgen (Swampscott/St. Mary's HS) has been selected as the Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Morgen had an outstanding week off the bench as Bentley earned quality wins over Assumption and Saint Rose. In the two games, she averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds, shot .600 overall and buried five of seven from long distance. Her 19 points (7/10 FG, 2/3 3's, 3/3 FT) against Assumption was a career-best and she hit three triples against Saint Rose while scoring 13 points.

Morgen is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.8 points, and is among the most accurate shooters in the NE10. She's number one in three-point accuracy (.500, 14/28) as well as second in field goal percentage (.559). Morgen has scored in doubles five times and made multiple three-pointers the same number of times.

Bentley, 10-2 overall prior to tonight's game against Staten Island, is tied for first in the conference and was number 22 in last week's WBCA Division II national coaches poll.
