Whitmore Named WBCA Division II All-America Honorable Mention

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior forward Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) has been named an NCAA Division II All-America honorable mention by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association following her outstanding season.

One of two Falcons to start every game, Whitmore led Bentley in almost every statistical category, including scoring (12.8), rebounds (6.9), assists (78), steals (39), minutes (30.0), field goals made and attempted (150-327), free throws made (87) and free throw percentage (.916). The latter shattered the school record of .881, set by Lauren Moore in 2006-07, and ranks sixth nationally in Division II.

Whitmore boosted her scoring by nearly four points a game from last year and had four double-doubles. One of those came in the Northeast-10 Championship game against Southern New Hampshire as she led the Falcons to the championship and was named the Most Outstanding Player.

Whitmore was previously selected for the All-Northeast-10 second team.

Bentley finished the season 22-10 and reached the second-round of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional.
