WALTHAM, Mass. – For the 37th time in the program's remarkable history, the Bentley University women's basketball team will be competing in the NCAA Division II Championships.

Hours after capturing the Northeast-10 Conference championship with a wire-to-wire performance, coach C White's Falcons received the number five seed and will face fourth-seeded Le Moyne College on Friday.

The 2023 NCAA Division II East Regional will be held in Worcester at Assumption University. The top-seeded Greyhounds will be making their first NCAA appearance since 2017.

In addition to Bentley, automatic berths went to Daemen College (East Coast) and Dominican University (N.Y.) (Central Atlantic). Assumption and Le Moyne were at-large selections as were Southern New Hampshire University, Jefferson University and Saint Thomas Aquinas. Combined, the eight teams are 175-53 this season.

In addition to Bentley-Le Moyne, the other quarterfinal pairings on Friday have Assumption taking on Dominican, Southern New Hampshire facing Saint Thomas Aquinas and Jefferson against Daemen.

Bentley, which has won seven straight and is 9-1 since February 1, and Le Moyne, which was upset in the NE10 quarterfinals. faced each other once during the regular season. That game was played in Syracuse and the Dolphins captured that one, 53-38.

The regional semifinals will be Saturday evening and the regional championship will follow on Monday, March 13.

The first two rounds will be played in St. Joseph, Missouri March 20 and 22, and the national championship game will be in Dallas, in conjunction with the Women's Final Four on April 1.
