McDonough announces captains for 2024 season

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley softball head coach Terry McDonough is proud to announce the Falcons' three captains for the 2024 season.

"All three captains bring something different to our team," said McDonough, who is entering her ninth season at the helm for Bentley. "But a few things they do have in common are their knowledge of the game, their work rate at practice and at games, they lead by example every day, and they have a strong desire to win. They know what it takes to be successful both in the classroom and on the field!

Samantha Hess (Sr. | IF | Nutley, N.J.)

Coach McDonough: "Sam is a leader both on and off the field. She is the go-to person who takes control of a situation, good or bad. She keeps the team together and shines on and off the field."

Gabriella Longo (Sr. | C/OF | Northport, N.Y.)

Coach McDonough: "Gabby runs the defense and is solid as a rock behind the plate.  She has a great softball IQ that helps lead our team to success."

Sabrina Grizzaffi (Sr. | SS | Ridgefield, Conn.)

Coach McDonough: "Sabrina is a First Team All-Conference shortstop for a reason. Her range, quickness with her feet, and her arm have delivered many outs throughout her years here at Bentley."

Bentley's 2024 season begins Feb. 9 in Longwood, Florida, where the Falcons take on both Florida Tech and Chadron State.
