Payton Doiron and Jordan Krause

Doiron & Krause Selected for D2CCA All-East Second Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two Bentley University Falcons who had record-breaking seasons, sophomore left fielder Jordan Krause (San Pedro, Calif./San Pedro HS) and junior pitcher Payton Doiron (Beacon Falls, Conn./St. Joseph HS), have been selected for Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA) Softball All-East Region second team.

Krause, who previously became the first player in program history to receive first-team All-East honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, finished the season number two in the Northeast-10 Conference in batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage with a slash line of .424/.469/.547. She broke the Bentley single season marks for both hits (70) and total bases (111), and is number one in the NE10 in hits.

Krause, twice a first-team All-Northeast-10 honoree, finished her second collegiate season with a .407 career average, 124 hits, 75 runs scored, 51 RBI and a school record 11 home runs.

Doiron was one of the conference's best in the center circle, earning first team All-Conference recognition. The right-hander broke all of Bentley's strikeout records, putting up 16 in a game against Southern Connecticut, 186 for the season and 283 for her career. Doiron, 17-6 with a 1.78 ERA, also set a school record for wins in the season. She was also one of five Falcons who received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

In addition to owning the career strikeout mark, Doiron's career numbers include a 27-18 record and a 2.22 ERA in 69 appearances in the center circle.

Krause and Doiron were key reasons that the Falcons had their best season in program history, one that saw them set a school record for wins (30-15-1), earn their first-ever NCAA Division II tournament berth and reach the NCAA East 1 regional final.
