Capobianco Wins Bronze in 1500 on Day One of NE10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sam Capobianco won bronze in the 1500 meter race on day one of the Northeast 10 Outdoor Championships.

Capobianco finished in 3:56.89 to finish just over one second behind the gold medalist.

The 1500 was one of two individual races to contest finals on Friday. The other was the 10000 meter, where Cole Duval placed sixth with a time of 32:32.61.

Sam Balsis had two top-eight finishes in prelim races to qualify for the finals on Saturday. He was seventh in the 110 hurdles (15.52) and seventh in the 400 hurdles (56.89).

Evan Bean also qualified for the 400 hurdles finals by finishing sixth at 56.40.

The 4x800 relay was contested on Friday and Bentley's team of Finn Power, Matt Chicko, Hayden MacArthur and Michael Hemme was fifth with a time of 8:16.65

In the field events, Parker Rush produced a top-five finish in the javelin with a throw of 55.20 meters to take fifth place.

Quinn Riesenberg was 12th in the long jump at 6.54 meters.
