4 Falcons Receive CSC Academic All-District Recognition

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four members of the 2022-23 Bentley University men's and women's cross country and track and field teams have received Academic All-District recognition from the College Sports Communicators.

They are rising junior Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS), recent graduate Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) and rising seniors Evan Bean (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa HS) and Cole Duval (Tolland/Mt. Everett HS).

Bean, a finance major, finished seventh in the 400 meter hurdles during the outdoor Northeast-10 Championships, finishing in 56.66 seconds. In addition, his junior year also included a fifth in the indoor 4x400 and a seventh in the outdoor 4x400 at the conference championships.

Burmester, whose GPA is just shy of 4.0, had an outstanding sophomore year both athletically and academically while majoring in accountancy and liberal studies. She was Bentley's top finisher in every cross country meet for the second straight year, was fifth in the 800 at the indoor NE10 championships and fourth in both the 400 and 800 at the NE10's outdoors. Indoors, she earned All-New England honors.

Duval, a computer information systems major with a 3.9 GPA, earned USTFCCCA Division II All-East honors this spring after placing fifth in the 10,000 meters at the NE10 championships and sixth in the same event at the New Englands. In the 5,000, he was sixth in the NE10's indoors and seventh outdoors. Duval was also 47th overall at the 2022 NE10 cross country championships.

Greene, a management major, owns three career top-six performances in the high jump at the Northeast-10 Championships. She was fifth outdoors this past spring, sixth indoors last February, 12th outdoors in 2022 and fifth indoors in 2022. On Bentley's all-time lists in the event, Greene ranks fourth outdoors and sixth indoors.

All advanced to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America® consideration.
