Bentley Set to Face Saint Michael’s in Northeast-10 Championship First Round on Tuesday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley will take on Saint Michael's in the first round of the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Championship on Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Tuesday's match is the only first round match of the championship and pits the No. 5 seed Falcons against the No. 4 seed Purple Knights.

The top three seeds, Le Moyne, Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire received byes to the semifinals. The winner between Bentley and Saint Michael's will face the top seed Le Moyne in the semifinals. The 2-3 match between Adelphi and SNHU is already set. Both semifinal matches are on Thursday.

The championship match will be on either Saturday or Sunday at the highest remaining seed.

Bentley's singles lineup has been fairly consistent this spring with senior Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) occupying the No. 1 position and junior Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) at No. 2. Junior Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) has been in No. 3 and freshman Nikolai Pran (Oslo, Norway), the NE10 Rookie of the Week on April 11, in No. 4. The fifth spot has seen senior Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) and the sixth spot Diego Ramos (Port St. Lucia, Fla.).

Bonte, Pran and Soifer shared the team lead in singles wins during the regular season, in dual matches.

In doubles, Soifer and Bonte have been the only team to play in No. 1. They have a 7-7 record overall. In No. 2, Horwitz and Pran had a 3-2 record in NE10 matches, with wins over Assumption, Adelphi and Franklin Pierce.

Bentley and Saint Michael's played in the regular season on April 11 and the Purple Knights won 7-0.
