Bentley Falls to SNHU in Regular Season Finale, Will Face St. Michael’s in NE10 Playoffs

 

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bentley men's tennis team fell to Southern New Hampshire 7-0 on Saturday in the final NE10 regular season match for both teams.

The Falcons did however qualify for the Northeast-10 Championship. They will play at Saint Michael's on Tuesday in the first round in the 4-5 matchup.

Bentley's No. 1 doubles team of Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) and Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) won their match, with a 6-3 victory over Jonathan Berling and Fernando Torres.

The Penmen though won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to take the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.

SNHU then swept the singles matches. The No. 5 match between Bentley's Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) and SNHU's Phil Roeder went to three sets. Rattaseri won the first set 6-4, but Roeder took the next two sets 6-3, 10-7.

The rest of the singles lineup for Bentley had Soifer in No. 1, Bonte in No. 2, Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) in No. 3, Nikolai Pran (Oslo, Norway) in No. 4 and Diego Ramos (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) in No. 6.

Bentley has one final match on Sunday before the playoffs begin, a non-conference match at Post starting at 1:00 PM.
